The Triangle, Alex Boynes’ show of political art in Canberra has proved to be right on the money. With only Friday and Saturday to go Julian Laffan’s Shadows on the Plains featuring shadowy prints of Australia’s Prime Ministers since Gough Whitlam suddenly became out of date. Following the overnight resurrection of Kevin Rudd Julian discovered his work was rather yesterday and thus he rushed in today for a speedy update. (pictured above) That’s right folks every Hall of Australian Prime Ministers will now require two pictures of Kevin Rudd. More you think about it …. the weirder it gets. Also while we are on message check Ham Darroch’s prophetic work of Julia Gillard on a table tennis bat (below). Then there is Alex Asch’s 76 JCs Continue the Big Charade. God these artists are clever. Art one day, reality the next. Don’t miss the Triangle at CCAS Gorman House Galleries until Saturday 29 June.
