POSH UNDIES AND THE TRUE SELF
David Rosetzky is Melbourne’s Andy Warhol without the drag queens. Sure, he may have been mixing it up with the Contemporary Dance and Experimental Theatre set, but they don’t cross dress like they used to.
A handsome exhibit of David’s work opened Thursday night at the CCP, and what struck many of us was the cohesion of his vision, even from his art student days. Loads of his collaborators and models from over the years turned out to celebrate this retrospective.
It’s a great feeling to have a show up. When people ask ‘What’s been Happening?’ you can quickly hide the true self with a rapid recital of exhibition venues and dates. David Rosetzky now has the ‘What are you up to?’ speed dating interview in a social setting scene covered till mid September 2015. That’s when his show finally finishes its regional tour at PICA.
