Hexagonal (in which 6 CCAS Studio Residents take sides !) is the second self initiated project for this years enthusiastic group. The first Mini Pops for the Gorman House Art Centre Bloom Festival in which you could buy miniature artworks from a vending machine turned out to be a hugely popular, innovative, novelty act. With Hexagonal its back to the Photospace Gallery at the ANU SChool of Art for a glimpse of the story so far. CCAS Director David Broker opened the show and said it was always a relief to know that the residents have been hard at work. Its a reasonably eclectic group but nearly everyone has adapted their work for the walls and Heather, for the plinth. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this was a fun packed opening and quite hard to leave …. and a very cooperative crowd when it came to the photography.
Hexagonal at Photospace Gallery ANU Art School until 25 October. Heather Brenchley, Martin James, Alex Lewis, Katy Mutton, Jemima Parker and Timothy Phillips
