CIT DIPLOMA CLASS OF 13
Its great to see artists working at the very beginnings of their careers. The technique might not be hugely developed but the ideas are fresh and the enthusiasm is palpable. Such is the CIT Diploma class of 2013 whose grad show opened last night. The scary assessments are over and its time to have fun. CCAS Director David Broker was the opening speaker and he addressed the many parents who turned out to see what the kids have been up to for the year. “Parents” he said are, “proud but sometimes confused, even perplexed” about what the future holds for people studying visual arts. He then launched into a long list of all the things you can do as an artist. This was not as boring as it sounds and many people thanked him afterwards saying that was exactly what they were worried about. Anyway congratulations to the class of 2013 … and all the best with the next steps on the long but exciting art road.
