If Gallus gallus domesticus is your thing (and don’t try to deny it !) you will get clucky over Janet Angus’s new exhibition Fowl Play. Janet envisages a romanticised, heroic kind of chook in her exploration of relationships between the domestic hen and society. As one of the most common and widespread domestic animals there are more chickens in the world than any other species of bird, 50 billion in fact. Just as well because humans, foxes and cats just love to eat them. Angus hopes to translate a better understanding of our feathered friends through her paintings to ultimately appreciate nature and its importance in our future.
Fowl Play at CCAS Manuka 26th June – 6th July
