WORKING BLITZ

Andrew Barr MLA and Joseph Falsone

On a hot Friday arvo CCAS lent a hand (in fact we ruined our hands) to clean up Gorman Art Centre in eager anticipation of the first phase of renovations which will begin soon in garden and front office. At last Gorman Art Centre staff will have a civilised work place. When Andrew Barr MLA ACT Treasurer, Minister for Economic Development, Minister for Housing, Minister for Tourism and Events arrived  CCAS Director David Broker was seen to be evicting creatures (bugs) that must have thought they would never be disturbed. With a number of Gorman tenants participating a spectacular cleaning frenzy ensued that turned out to to be quite fun. The foyer area and Bogong Theatre has never looked so good – well not since 1927. Andrew joined us for afternoon tea and chat that ranged from waist lines to ACT festivals to how fabulous we all are here in Canberra. Worked for me … Be prepared for some major change in the next few months at Gorman Art Centre.
